He is a Professor of Online Marketing, Social Media Marketing and Artificial Intelligence in Marketing with the Marketing Faculty of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, as well as its Deputy Dean since 2012. He has graduated the Marketing PhD program of Bucharest University of Economic Studies and the Master of Science Program in Computer Information Systems of Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States of America.

Mihai is the co-author of the Online Marketing and Marketing Information Systems textbooks, as well as 8 other books, and over 100 academic articles published in national and international journals and conferences. He was also involved in over 100 research projects funded by various public and private entities, both national and international. He held research and teaching fellowships to various international universities and research institutions, including IESE Business School in Barcelona, European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management in Bruxelles, Belgium and University of Groningen in The Netherlands. He is editor of the Journal of Online Marketing and Journal of Marketing Analytics.
