Every year, Catalyst Solutions is conducting an online survey among HR professionals and decision makers in companies of different sizes activating in Romania. The study, Romanian labor market in 2023 focuses on priorities, challenges and strategies for recruitment and employer branding during the year to come.

Between December 2022 and February 2023, 222 respondents working for companies across various industries filled out the questionnaire and their answers helped us shape our perspectives for the Romanian labor market in 2023.

Going back to last month during our monthly EB dialogue, we have had the chance to present some of the results from our study and we are happy we’ve sparked such interesting conversations. Below you can find a summary of what was discussed during the event, in case you’ve missed it.

Number of hires – will they continue to increase?

The plans look somewhat different when looking at the types of positions. When it comes to hiring managers and interns and trainees, most companies plan to continue hiring but at similar levels compared to 2022. On the other hand, recruiters and decision makers estimate they will need to increase the number of hires in 2023 as far as entry-level and specialist positions are concerned.

Talent remains scarce with the majority of respondents (85%) expect the market to be at least just as tough as in 2022, if not tougher, when it comes to how easy it will be to recruit talent.

Employer branding – priorities and prognosis for 2023

Nearly 45% of recruiters or decision makers estimate that the resources allocated to the implementation of their employer branding strategies in 2023 will (significantly) increase in 2023 compared to the previous year and just as many think they will stay the same.
